A full generation writes a whole book draft, every chapter; an AI editor request is one message to the editor or one fact it fixes. Reaching a limit pauses new runs until it resets — it never charges you. Failed runs don't count, and editing the text yourself is never limited.
Studio: up to 10 full generations a day and 60 in any 30 days — the same rules, sized for an agency.

Renews every year
Family renews automatically at $349 a year until you cancel. We email you about 30 days before each renewal.
Cancel any time
Turn off auto-renewal in the billing portal whenever you like. Family stays active to the end of the year you paid for.
A full refund within 14 days
Ask within 14 days of a yearly payment and you get all of it back, as long as you haven't ordered that year's printed copy or downloaded a finished book PDF since. There are no partial refunds.
If you stop
Nothing is deleted. Finished PDFs made while you were subscribed stay downloadable, and you can export your tree and photos any time.

What does Family include?

How many books can I make?
As many as your family archive holds: the whole family's story, a book about one person, a parent's branch, an anniversary book. Fair use allows up to 3 full generations a day and 10 in any 30 days; reaching a limit pauses new runs and never charges.
How does the printed copy work?
Each paid year includes one Heirloom hardcover. Order it any time that year, once you approve the book's layout; shipping is at the printer's cost and shown before you pay. More copies of the same book are $150 each in the same order, to the same address, or $179 each ordered later, to any address. A copy you don't use doesn't carry over — your renewal brings the next one.
Can I cancel, and can I get a refund?
Cancel auto-renewal any time in the billing portal; Family stays active to the end of the paid year. Within 14 days of a yearly payment you can ask for a full refund, as long as you haven't ordered that year's printed copy or downloaded a finished book PDF since. There are no partial refunds after that.
What happens to my books if I stop?
Nothing is deleted. Finished PDFs made while you were subscribed stay downloadable, and you can export your tree and photos any time. New drafts and new finished PDFs need Family again.
I bought a book or a plan before. Does it still work?
Yes. Everything you bought keeps working: purchased PDFs stay downloadable, and paid print orders are printed and shipped as ordered. If you subscribe to an earlier plan, you keep it — and you can switch it to Family on the billing page, on the same subscription.
Studio, for agencies.
Is the printed copy per client?
No — it is one per account. Each paid year of Studio includes one printed copy for your account, to show at client meetings. Copies for your clients are ordered per book, at the price shown at checkout.
What does my imprint cover?
Every book in your Studio account prints under it: your logo, name, place and website on the title page; your mark in the running heads and on the spine; your studio in the colophon and on the back flap of the dust jacket. The book’s PDF names your studio as its author.
Does 7gens appear in the book?
Once, in the colophon: a single “Made with 7gens” line after the trim size. The colophon also says the text was drafted with the help of AI and approved for printing by your studio.
What do my clients see?
The archive you invite them into — free for them, with no plan of their own. They read the books you share with them in the app, page by page, and send photographs, voice recordings and written memories that reach a book only once you, or an editor on your team, approve them. The book carries your imprint, with one “Made with 7gens” line in the colophon. Studio brands the book, not the software: the 7gens app and the emails it sends stay 7gens.
What happens if the plan lapses?
Books already printed or downloaded don’t change. New previews and new files print as 7gens books again. Your imprint stays saved and returns when you renew.
